Wolves have introduced a motion to remove VAR from the Premier League, and their proposal will be put to a vote on Thursday. For it to pass, they would need 13 other clubs to agree to the removal of the technology. However, it appears their plans are doomed to fail.

reports that the motion has next to no chance of succeeding, to the point that it may not even be voted on. Instead, there is an expectation that a discussion will be had over areas in which VAR can improve after a series of controversial calls, including the accidental ruling out of a legitimate Liverpool goal against Tottenham.

The clubs who play in European competition are said to be completely unwilling to vote for the proposal, while those from the bottom half of the table believe it would be counter-productive to remove VAR completely. Most clubs would rather see VAR improved than scrapped, as they believe it offers a safety net against poor on-field decisions.
