Amrabat is joining the Moroccan club from Hull City, and will appear for Wydad in the upcoming Club World Cup. In an interview with de Telegraaf, the winger suggested his new employers were pursuing a deal with Ronaldo, potentially confirming rumours that the Portuguese legend is pursuing a chance to play in the newly minted competition.

Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr runs out on the 30th June, but the Club World Cup kicks off on the 13th June, meaning the legend would have to negotiate an early termination of his deal.

Amrabat was asked, "Is it true that Wydad is trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for the World Cup?"

He replied: "The president is very ambitious and is still working with some very big names. It is true that Cristiano is one of them."
